Learning The Rules One Step At A Time [Lovino, Vash, Eydis]

Eydís Hauksson at this point in time had been relaxing near the quidditch pitch. Under the shade of a birch tree reading a book. His puffin laying across his knee's napping contently. A perfect picture of peace. A faint whistling noise caused the boy to look up. That was odd...was a magical creature making that noise? He looked around when a shadow was blocking the sun light coming towards him. Squinting he lifted a hand to shield his eyes slightly to get a better look. It was round.... interesting enough. Until he noticed it was gaining speed. Rapidly gaining speed. With a yelp he grabbed the book and puffin diving out the way as it collided with the earth making a large crater. He paled and turned looking to where the large heavy ball had come from. He grunted as he picked it up holding the struggling ball to his chest and moved towards the pitch.

Entering the pitch he brought his gloved fingers to his mouth and whistled loudly. "HEY!!!" Eydís called up to the Italian above him. "Lose something?"

The school and its grounds were absolutely huge, and even with a map Vash wondered if he would ever figure out where the hell anything was. The classes seemed confusing, the food was mostly weird, the halls, rooms and stairs had a habit of changing themselves, the little things running around the castle being useful looked like small German trolls from the Black Forest, and almost nobody spoke enough German to cut him a break. Vash sighed in mild irritation, ducking out during what was a mostly free afternoon. He had homework and things to do, yes, but they would honestly wait; he'd spent all damn day with people in that stifling, damp castle and he just needed air or he might pop.

Outside there were still lots of students, but at least it was easier to duck around them now and then maybe find some quiet place to sit and catch his breath; God only knew that the common room was the last place that would offer peace. He missed the quiet of the woods and fields, but students apparently weren't allowed in the woods for some reason. Not really paying attention to where he was going, Vash followed a hedge to a tall wall and followed it around until finally curiosity got the better of him, urging the teen to find the opening to see what it was. Much to his surprise it was... a large playing field with white lines and circles mapped out on the lawn. Huh. It was empty, too, save for someone flying around with a few random things. He tilted his head a bit, watching Lovino for a moment as he walked around the field, no longer paying attention to the boy on the broom or the objects around him. "Was zur Hölle," Vash wondered aloud. "They have a rugby field?"

Eydis blinked at the boy. He wondered what on earth why people would have weighted balls that flew around trying to knock people out. If not kill them. A golden ball with wings flittered past his nose as the Italian ran off to retrieve a second weighted ball. How odd were these balls as the golden one darted above him. For a brief moment he had to smirk at the flying broomsticks. How stereotypical!

As the Slytherin returned he gave him a questioning look. "What are these balls all for anyway?" He first asked before something gold fluttered around him again causing his puffin to shriek and to calm the bird he offered his hand whispering softly in his native tongue. "Hush now golden Nisse....." Eydis's voice was cool and almost a song. He used it with the Elves and it calmed them and most the time they would all join in song. "You can rest now." Flexing his fingers the little ball dropped in his palm and curled it's wings inward almost asleep. Closing his fingers he caged it and blinked. "Oh...I taught it was a Nisse... I guess we are to far from the Scandinavians for them...." Turning to Lovino he smiled shyly. "Is this one of your missing balls?"

The field was massive, and the more he looked at it, the more Vash thought it was all wrong for rugby. Football maybe? But where were the goals? Usually they were large, unless this school just took out the nets during games. He looked up to the side at the three tall hoops on poles, genuinely puzzled. The hell kind of a field was this? A student nearby was shouting and Vash ignored it as he continued walking across the empty field.

His thoughts remained undisturbed and rather unaware of what was going on until the boy up on the broom nearly collided with him, firmly clutching a ball in his hands and giving Vash a dark look. Vash spun around to look up at Lovino before he flew off, returning the look to him. "Ze hell's your problem," Vash growled, stepping back but keeping his eyes on Lovino and the white-haired boy who was also now on the field and holding something small in his hand. "And what is that?"

Eydis blinked inspecting the ball in wonder. So it wasn't a magical creature. He watched it fondly as it seemed like it was sleeping in his hand. So it was a snitch, Such a beautiful thing. Though it wasn't alive... Turning to Lovino he blinked. "So.... It's a ball?"

He handed Lovi the ball and smiled softly. "So this is a sport? Sounds fun...."
