Exploring The Greenhouses [Matthew > Gilbert > Mei > Lars > Ming]

He nodded to the boy " Your welcome" he glanced off to the side to take in a good look at everyone, before looking back to the younger boy.

"I take care of the fauna here" he sighed and ran his hand through his hair "if you like I can show you the various plants so you don't get attacked again?" he rather liked showing off his work for anyone that wanted to see it.

However he rolled his eyes at the Slythern boy when he heard his reason to being there but didn't say anything.

"I'm... taking ca-care of the plants here as we-well..." Ming said quickly, her eyes shifting to the normal plants that seemed so out of place to her in the corner. Speaking of that, she'd have to cast an invisibility charm over them to make sure no one found them. What if someone told? How would I explain such an abomination in the greenhouse?!

Quelling her fears, she turned back to the others just as quickly as she did to look at her plants. "I-If you need any help wi-with them, I'm always here!" she smiled meekly.

"Showing me the plants would be lovely, thank you." Matthew nodded politely, rubbing the palms of his hands again. He smiled shyly at the boy and wiped his palms off. Perhaps it was time to grow some confidence and start making friends at this place, seeing as the only person he really knew was his brother. He nodded and fiddled with his wand absentmindedly. Glancing at the slytherin boy, Matthew immediately put him down as a troublemaker. But didn't quite have the courage to say that outloud. "What sort of plants are people allowed to have?" He didn't have any real experience in Herbology, it wasn't his strongest point. But he still enjoyed watching others garden and listening to others talk about it.

Gilbert was bored. Agian. Everyone was all nice and quite. It annoyed him. He stared to figet: drumming his fingers against his leg; tapping his foot; or petting Gilbird's feather's, a nervous habit of his. While the other's made conversation, he wondered around, weaving in between the people, and digging around the plants- not paying attention if they tried to nip at him- just looking for something interesting.

That's when he saw the basket of strawberries and other fruits. He wondered if they were Toni's, his Hufflepuff friend liked to growing his own food, even if it was against the rules or something like that. He fingured the Toni, or whoever grew these, wouldn't mind if he had a few. Popping some into his mouth, and bitting a peice off then handing it to Gilbird. He hummed boardly, he wondered if he should give Ming some, he didn't want to do a 'boyfriend fail' and not give her some of his new found food.

As he pondered his, he noticed how the small blonde and the tall scary one stood near each other. Did they know each other? And Ming looked nervous. Was she still scared in this group of people? And she kept looking over to that spot where the strawberries were before he wormed his way over there. Did she know who grew them? Or did she grow them? And Mei, his dormmate, seemed quite. She wasn't yelling like she normally did. But she also was getting along with Ming, so that made him a little happy.

He took another bite out of the red fruit and wondered over to the more empty side of the Greenhouse, maybe there will be more interesting things over here.

Something snagged his foot and he tripped. The few barries that he had in his hand when flying. The thing he tripped on quickly wraped around his legs. Like a snake smothering it's prey. He hit the floor with a painful thud. Gott, his nose was in so much pain!

But to his surprise, the thing didn't do anything else. It just held on like a kid refusing to be parted from his parents. He heard a strange cat-like purring sound comming from somewhere near the plant.

"Gott, verdammt." This is why he hated plants, the stupid things couldn't keep off him. With a growl, he tried to pull the vines off him, but it was all in vain. Stuggling, he attempted to get the plant off him. Grumbling, he just sat there on the ground, legs wrapped up in a stupid, purring plant, trying in vain to get it off. Damnit! He was to awesome for this!

Mei's head turned at the sudden noise of Gilbert's yelling. Shaking her head, she opted not to go over, in fear that the plant would try to attack her as well. Unfortunately, in her endeavor to try and avoid said plant, she found herself in the midst of another one.

Staring at the vine thingy, she blinked as it made its way over to her. Coming to her senses right as it was about an inch away from her, she quickly scrambled over to where Matthew and Lars were. After all, with them nearby, there was now a 33% chance that the vine would go after her. Not that it mattered much anyway.

"These plants aren't very pleasant....what exactly are they?" Mei voiced out loud, tilting her head, trying to see if she could vaguely remember anything from the times she had actually attended and paid attention in Herbology.

" This greenhouse is for the Herbology plants...there is a smaller greenhouse that we can grow non-herbology plants " He was about to show the younger boy around when he heard the German boy yell out.

He turned to look when the other Slytherin girl aproched them, he could see the vines of the plants move about. " Something is bothering them, they are normally very docile " He didn't like this one bit, he took great care with each plant so he knew when something was wrong.

" Stay here " he slowly approched the German to see if he could help free the guy.

While the Dutch male went to help Gilbert, Ming took her chance to do something somewhat productive and stepped up to the plant that had started pursuing Mei. Fishing out her wand from somewhere in her clothes, she flicked it. "Confundo," she muttered quietly and the plant immediately stopped in its tracks, the vines hanging limply in the air. "Go to sleep." Ming's tone was firm, and the plant immediately did as she asked, retreating before resting.

With that over with, she scurried back over to the others. Her wand disappeared inside her clothes again. "H-How strange... they are normally s-so quiet and obedient..." she said, her gaze flickering to some of the other flora. Ming usually came here to check on her own plants--but this had never happened before! She knew it couldn't be people because Herbology class usually had a lot more than just five people.

It couldn't be her non-magical plants either because they've been there since the start of the school year. The plants here didn't have a problem with them then and they shouldn't have a problem with them now. Sighing, the Singaporean rubbed her temples in frustration.

Matthew barely caught the yell of "Gott, verdammt.", but it managed to catch his attention. Matthew looked up, and blinked, and stared. The boy- Gilbert, right? -was wrapped up in the same horrid vines which Matthew had gotten trapped in! And Matthew knew that they were near impossible to get out by yourself! Other people were looking over too, the slytherin girl- Wan-Mei? -had backed away to where Lars and he were, whereas Lars on the other hand was darting forward to see what he could do. At the same time, Ming was doing some nifty wand work of her own to get rid of the vines going after Wan-Mei.

He scurried up to help Lars free Gilbert, who seemed almost immobile. He grabbed the hand that he could still see and pulled at Gilbert to try and dislodge him. At the same time he pulled out his wand. He didn't want to cast spells wildly for fear of hurting Gilbert by accident, so he did the next best thing and transfigured a leaf into a knife. Carefully, he hacked away at the vines, occasonally being forced to stomp on or bite any which came close to him. He succeeded in getting the whole of Gilbert's left arm free before a vine wrapped around his waist and jerked him up against Gilbert, their heads bashing together painfully. Matthew let out a yelp and began cutting at that vine too. "Er... Help?"

Red, tired, an annoyed eyes traveled along the vine to fine where it started to grow from. He felt like slamming his head against a wall, or the floor when he saw what was on the pot it was in. His name. That damn plant was his. It was something his mother sent in the mail. The plant was from South America; it was overly affectionate towards people, especially Gilbert. But since the boy hated plants, and constantly skipped Herbology class, he didn't see it very much. He guessed that hte reason that it was attacking people was that it was lonely and wanted attention. The albino felt kinda bad about that now.

But he didn't have much time to muse on it anymore, the large Ravenclaw was starting to walk over to him. Gilbert couldn't help but feel a tad scared, the boy was tall, and his face looked quite pissed. He started to squrim as he got closer, trying to get out of the vines and away from the scary man. But then the Hufflepuff- Birdie- came over to him with a knife. Gilbert almost screamed as the boy started to hack at the vines. "Was zum Teufel machst du da!? Sind Sie versuchen, mich zu töten!!" The answer to his frantic question was a free left arm.

But it seems the vine was scared and angry at being hacked at. The thing let out a whine and a hiss as it shot out and pulled Birdie right up against his body. THUD. Ooohh Gott. His head... as Birdie was being wrapped up to him, the smaller gave him a major headbutt. And Gott, it was painful. "Verdammt, Sie haben einen harten Kopf." His fuzzled mind barely made out the fact that the Hufflepuff was still trying to free them.
