Prank Planning is Srs Bsns [ZAMAN]

The library was a perfect place to do their planning. As a revered area of study, no one would question why they were surrounded by books of all sorts, shrugging it off as an intense cramming of some sorts. Mei led the way there, right as the rush of the crowd started. Inside, there weren't many around, most in class or scrambling to reach it, but as of now, it was no concern to the two.

Going back, somewhat close to the restricted section where they weren't likely to be bothered, she grabbed a chair and sat down, gesturing at Zaman to do likewise. Putting her bag down on the ground, she took out a few schoolbooks and placed them on a table, if only to give off the ruse that they were actually studying for something important. Turning to him, she said, "Alright, so our plan is to disrupt that hallway, by making papers fly. But I think we can do more, by possibly altering the floor or something, make a little pond? And also, we have to figure out how we're going to do this, but I'm sure you're aware of that already!"

She took out a piece of parchment, to take notes on. Of course, she'd burn it later on, but if this was going to work, like Zaman insisted, every single detail had to be perfect and remembered.

Zaman followed Mei, his mind churning out ideas and possibilities, what would be consistent and what would vary. Needless to say, he liked pranks. It wasn’t just a game, it was an art form. And if it was such, then Zaman would certainly hope he was the Picasso (Mei could be someone like Monet, or Michelangelo, but it seemed Da Vinci would suit her personality? Hm…these things were tricky to decide. And he didn’t know her well enough anyway, so back to the prank.) Walking through the library, he silently approved of her decision to sit near the restricted section. It made them look all the more respectable-looking and not-likely-to-be-questioned. (Definitely Monet) He also dropped his stuff on the ground, taking out a few sheets of parchment for his notes before sitting down in a chair across from her. As Mei began to talk, Zaman confirmed their original plan- papers and books would fly everywhere. “A little pond sounds interesting, and the textbooks aren’t too pricey” Though it made /him/ seem boring, he wasn’t interested in doing pranks that would possibly cause him to pay for ruined furniture, etc. He had thrown his texts out the window due to bets, and they managed to stay safe, most of the time. Admittedly, though, the cost of a text did try to burn a hole in your pocket- it depended on which shop you went to…(that shop on the corner of Merrilyn St. in Hogsmeade was one of those that demanded high prices for the textbooks it sold…ridiculous…)but certainly everything would be alright.

“Well, let’s get to work, then. I’ll be right back.” He stood up, and disappeared into the rows of bookshelves, eager to find the books he would need. Some advanced spell books definitely, and Zaman decided that a book on wind currents would be quite helpful as well. He quickly amassed an armful of the texts, pleased that this would suffice for reference and instructive diagrams.

Textbooks, those things, Mei had completely forgotten about them. Perhaps she could try to find some way to make it so that the students could get their books out of the pond unharmed. But a textbook lost wasn't as bad as a whole desk or something much more expensive. Thinking about it now, it was a good idea to make it so the textbooks would remain unharmed. The cost of having to pay for all those textbooks, in the scenario that they /did/ get caught, which, she doubted would happen made goosebumps pop up.

Nodding, she got to work thinking of ways they could carry this out, when Zaman dashed off into the labyrinth of books. Perhaps, while they could perform it from another location, in order to throw suspicion off of them, they could join the chaotic crowd at the prank's commencement. She was willing to sacrifice some books, namely, Herbology, Divination, and Transfiguration. Quickly, on her piece of parchment, she jotted down, "Join the ruckus, or remain hiding?" Deciding that some research would be good if she wanted those books unharmed, she got up and wandered her way over to the charms section.

Finding a few books that looked rather useful, (after all, "Neutralizing Damaging Spells" and "Developing Your own Anti-Charms" did seem like it would server her purpose), she wandered her way back to the table. Waiting for Zaman, she opened the first one up, and skimmed through the table of contents, hoping to find something that would help, or at the very least, she could take note of.

And how could he not resist a book on physics? To get to the bottom of spell casting, and it's core principles would require a library-full of books, and yes, Zaman was in a library, but he had no intention of trying to kill himself with education. So, as he always did, he settled for scratching the surface of the whole matter. Stupidity and all other useless thoughts were pushed into a dark corner of his mind (although he was still thinking about Monet and Picasso) while he started back towards the table he and Mei had settled at. Dropping his books on the table, he resumed sitting, pulled the first book off the pile he had chosen, and started reading.

Everything he found out would eventually be useful, so he didn't skim, and tried to understand the text as well as he could. Sometimes these books liked to use bigger words than he cared to know.

She looked up slightly, acknowledging that Zaman had returned to their table. The books he chose, seemed to be on the subject of physics. Wondering why he'd pick up such books, she deduced that it would probably somehow help with the prank, and help everything go along smoother...or perhaps it was because he was enamored with the subject. Either way, it wasn't going to distract her from her reading, though honestly, she couldn't find what she was looking for. Sure, there were charms and spells for making up a pond, but there wasn't much on how to get materials out unharmed.

Reparo would have to do for them, whenever the poor victims did manage to extract their books and such. Quickly scrawling down that there wasn't much they could do for keeping things unharmed, she went back to reading for things that may perhaps enhance the whole prank experience. Wondering if Zaman had any ideas, she quietly piped up, "Any ideas on adding on to this prank?"

Hearing the Slytherin quietly say something, Zaman looked up to hear her asking about adding more aspects to the prank. Thinking about this for a moment, he responded with a question concerning perhaps cutting off the hallways that would end the prank quicker and push things back to normal. He decided that the primary goal of this prank was to get it to mess up the school schedule for as long as possible, so even that the day would perhaps be cut short and they could go to their dorms earlier and all that fun stuff. Humming a little as another thought came to him, he asked Mei whether or not they should find some Psychology books(so they could read minds, of course. Maybe they could find out the chances of whether or not the teachers would really erupt in panic due to their prank (while he and Mei read their minds)

It was all pure genius.

The idea of cutting off the hallways was actually a really good idea, provided her and Zaman would be able to make a quick escape, or act enough of the part to not get into serious trouble. After all, disrupting the normal school schedule would probably call forth a flurry of troubles. She had confidence she was a good enough actress to pull it off, so she enthusiastically nodded to the idea, voicing her approval with a "Yes, yes!" Her books beckoning attention, ideas spinning, when once again, Zaman's voice floated itself into her ears.

Psychology wasn't really something she had dabbled in before, so she wasn't sure how well she could learn it. "It sounds like a good idea, though I'm not sure I'll understand it right away..." she replied. While psychology was an interesting thing to study, she wasn't sure whether or not it'd be applicable to the prank, but none the less, it wasn't a bad thing to try, so she continued on, hoping that Zaman was somewhat good at psychology.
